The BMW 4 Series is Arriving!

Well it’s time to put away the potato chips, get off the couch, refuse your 98th week of unemployment money, and get a real job because the new highly anticipated BMW 4 Series is about to debut!  The BMW 3 Series coupes (now renamed just 4 Series for some reason) always takes the sedated design of the sedans to a sleeker and more aggressive level, and this new 3 oops I mean 4 series coupe is no different.  The availability of a true manual transmission on these rear drive BMWs still makes them true real cars, I just wish they would stop all that turbocharging.

The 2012 Winter Park Concours d’Elegance

Some of the highlights of the 2012 Winter Park Concours d'Elegance in Winter Park, FL. From multi-million dollar rare Ferraris to hardcore classic Porsche 930s, this car show seems to get better every year. The BMW M3 GT race car even made a stunning appearance.

Used Car Recommendation of the Week: The 2002 Maserati Coupe

Here is another vehicle that goes incognito in the used car world, except for when it comes to real enthusiasts like us who sees great thrills for a bargain price. This is a pure Italian GT car, the body was penned by Giorgetto Giugiaro, born from the design studios of ItalDesign, built in Modena Italy, and powered by a 385 hp 90 degree V8 of Ferrari design. But what is not Italian like is the price for this GT car, prices for a 2002 Maserati Coupe with low miles can range from $30k to 40k!  Oh and forget the Cambiocorsa model with the paddle shifting sequential gearbox and go for the straight 6-speed manual. This is Italian speed and V8 sounds without the Ferrari like prices, so go ahead and write the check.

The End of an Era.

This June 1995 Motor Trend issue showcased the new Porsche 911 Turbo (also known as the 993). It was the beginning of the end of an era; the last air cooled Porsche 911 Turbo, and these are some of the few forced induction vehicles that we like. The classic air cooled 911s definitely went out with a big bang!

Classic Beauty is the Ferrari 250.

As we become more mature most of us tend to appreciate and respect classic beauty. The Ferrari 250 is one of the best examples of classic beauty. In our humble opinion the classic Ferrari 250 in its many iterations looks better than any modern Ferrari of today. In order to make a statement like that, the caveat is that one must be mature in thought, most of the youth will not understand.

From Rags To Riches: The Evolution of the Porsche 911

Well actually the 911 never really came from rags; it was always a highly tuned precision crafted vehicle with a nod towards continuous development throughout the years. Introduced at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 1963 the original 911 had a price tag of $5,900 and about 130 horsepower produced by its now famous flat-6 engine. After several decades of constant improvements you can now pick up a top of the line 911 GT2 RS for about $249,000, producing 620 horsepower, still from a flat-6 cylinder engine… my how times have changed. See the evolution of the 911.
